Sonora Downtown Lions Club Adopt-a-Highway project. 
The original Adopt-a-Highway program began right here in Texas in 1985. Since then, it’s grown into a nationally and internationally recognized litter-prevention effort, saving taxpayers’ dollars and keeping our rights of way clean.
The Sonora Downtown Lions club have joined forces with TxDot and have adopted two miles of North 277. Local Lions will be working on cleaning up these two miles of State Highway on Saturday, April 13, 2024. Lions will be meeting at 9:00 a.m. near the north parking lot of the Texas Department of Highway office located at 708 N. US 277.
Volunteers are needed with this clean up project. Feel free to join us at the meeting location at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow.
