On Monday, April 15, 2024 at approximately 0151 hours, the Readington Township Police arrested Josue J. Calix Gamaz (35) out of Tewksbury Township for Driving While Intoxicated. Calix Gamaz was traveling north on County Route 523 near the intersection of Mountain Road when he struck a telephone pole. The pole snapped in half causing the wires and pole to block County Route 523 and Mountain Road. Calix Gamaz failed the officers field sobriety tests and was taken into custody. He was isued a motor vehicle summons for DWI, Possession of Open an Container, Reckless Driving, Careless Driving, Failure to Maintain Lane, Failure to Possess Insurance Card, and Throwing Objects from a Motor Vehicle. The filing of charges is merely one step in the process.  A defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
