Wilmington Police have arrested a man on gun and drug charges.
On April 6, at approximately 10:35 a.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division and Canine Unit responded to the 900 block of Kirkwood Street, in reference to a person with a gun. Upon arrival, officers made contact with 24-year-old Chaka Hollis, who was taken into custody without incident and found to be in possession of a loaded 9mm handgun, 0.203 grams of heroin, and 7.2 grams of crack cocaine.
Hollis has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – Three Counts
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver
- Receiving a Stolen Firearm
- Possession of a Controlled Substance in Tier 1 Quantity
- Possession of a Controlled Substance
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $57,200 secured bail.
