Wilmington Police have arrested a wanted man on drug charges.
On April 8, at approximately 10:43 a.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division were in the 900 block of North Church Street, when they observed a motor vehicle commit a traffic violation. Police conducted a motor vehicle stop at that location and made contact with the driver – 21-year-old Jerome Perkins, who was found to be wanted on an outstanding capias. Police took Perkins into custody without incident, and following a brief investigation recovered 499 grams of marijuana, and $9,390.
Perkins has been charged with the following offenses in addition to traffic violations:
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver
- Possession of a Controlled Substance in Tier 1 Quantity
He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution pending further proceedings.
