Wilmington Police have arrested a man on gun charges.
On April 9, at approximately 1:26 p.m., members of the Safe Streets Task Force were in the 1700 block of West 3rd Street, when they observed a male subject acting in a suspicious manner. Officers made contact with 21-year-old Jakere Jones, who was found to be in possession of a loaded 9mm handgun. Prior to officers taking Jones into custody, he attempted to flee on foot. Following a brief foot pursuit, Jones was taken into custody without incident.
Jones has been charged with the following offenses:
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Resisting Arrest
He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and was released on $11,000 secured bail.
