Police Seek Help Identifying Theft Suspect
Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help identifying the below-pictured male suspect in connection with two package thefts that occurred on Saturday, April 6th, 2024, and Tuesday, April 9th, 2024.
A victim reported that on each date, a package was stolen from the same residence at Telford Street near Norwood Place. The first package, from Bed Bath and Beyond, was valued at $70.00. The second package, from Amazon, was valued at $120.00.
Detectives investigating this incident seek the public’s help in quickly identifying the suspect. He is described as an older Black man with a black and gray beard. He was wearing glasses, a black jacket, a gray hooded sweatshirt, gray jeans, and a black hat.
Director Fragé urges anyone with information regarding the identity of this suspect to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
