Winter Weather Advisory until 11:00AM Thursday

* WHAT...Snow and blowing snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches. Winds gusting as high as 55 mph. Visibility reduced to as low as one half mile at times.

* WHERE...Eastern Aleutians.

* WHEN...From 4 AM Wednesday to 11 AM AKDT Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Rain this afternoon will transition to snow overnight as colder air moves in. Temperatures will continue through Wednesday as winds increase and snow showers persist. Snow could fall at a rate of one to two inches per hour in heavier snow bands Wednesday morning. The combination of heavier snow and gusty winds could significantly reduce visibility at times. Show showers are expected to taper off Thursday morning.
