NOTICE OF STREET CLOSURES
 
ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION REGULATIONS AT THE ANNUAL BUTTER AND EGG DAYS PARADE AND ANTIQUE FAIR
 
Dates:              Saturday, April 20, 2024 and Sunday, April 28, 2024
Events:            Butter and Egg Days Parade and Antique Fair

The annual Butter and Egg Days Parade will take place on Saturday, April 20, 2024 in the Petaluma Downtown area.  This is a major family-oriented event attended by several thousand people.  This event requires the closure of multiple streets in the Downtown area.  People attending the event are encouraged to arrive early and carpool to the downtown area.  Petaluma transit is offering free bus fare for those who want to utilize their service for the whole weekend.  They are also scheduling busses every 15 minutes on route 11 for this event.  For those utilizing the SMART train, SMART will be running three car trains for expected additional passengers.  The Petaluma Police Department encourages the use of public transit to help alleviate traffic congestion.  For those who wish to ride their bicycles, a bicycle valet will be set up on B Street at 4th Street.  For those who will be coming into Petaluma from outside of the area, please be aware that Highway 37 will be closed between Vallejo and Petaluma this weekend.  Please allow for additional travel time if travelling this route or affected detour routes.  The parade begins at 12:00 PM, but for safety reasons, road closures in some areas will start at 5:00 AM.
 
Alcohol will only be sold and consumed in the beer gardens located at the following locations: B Street, between 4th Street and Petaluma Blvd. North; and Western Avenue, between Keller Street and Petaluma Blvd. North.  No alcohol may be brought to this event and public consumption of alcohol will not be allowed.  Violations of alcohol related laws will be strictly enforced, and uniformed officers will be working the event to address any observed violations. 
 
The Antique Fair will take place on Sunday, April 28, 2024 in the Kentucky Street area of Downtown. The following road closures and approximate times will be in place for both events.

  • Fourth Street between “I” Street and “B” Street, from 7 AM to 3 PM;
  • Fifth Street between “I” Street and “D” Street, from 7 AM to 3 PM;
  • “A” Street Parking Lot from 5 AM to 6 PM;
  • “B” Street between Second Street and Petaluma Boulevard from 5 AM to 6 PM;
  • “B” Street between Petaluma Boulevard and Sixth Street, from 5 AM to 6 PM;
  • “C” Street between Petaluma Boulevard and Second Street, from 7 AM to 3 PM;
  • “C” Street between Petaluma Boulevard and Fifth Street, from 7 AM to 3 PM;

The Petaluma Police Department will be working these events to reasonably accommodate any traffic related issues. The Petaluma Police Department appreciates the public’s patience and understanding and requests those who cannot avoid the area to allow plenty of time for travel.
