Deputies Arrest Suspect After He Burglarized Multiple Businesses in Apple Valley

DATE/TIME: Monday, April 15, 2024 / 1:55 am 

INCIDENT: PC 459 – Burglary

LOCATION(S): Starbucks, 12218 Apple Valley Road, Apple Valley, CA
Carter’s, 19157 Bear Valley Road, Apple Valley, CA
Bank of America, 19095 Bear Valley Road, Apple Valley, CA
US Bank, 19201 Bear Valley Road, Apple Valley, CA

SUSPECT(S): Mario Joel San Martini, 25-year-old male transient

SUMMARY: 
On Monday, April 15, 2024, at approximately 1:56 am, San Bernardino Sheriff’s Dispatch received a report of an alarm at Starbuck’s located at 12218 Apple Valley Road. 
 
Deputies from the  Apple Valley Police Department arrived on scene and found the glass in the front door of  the business broken. Deputy W. Ray investigated and found food items had been stolen from the business. 

While this investigation was in process, San Bernardino Sheriff’s Dispatch received a second alarm call at Carter's located at 19157 Bear Valley Road. Deputy A. Trousas responded to the location and found the glass in the front door broken at the business; however it appeared no items appeared to be missing.

Deputy Trousas and other units located a male subject walking near Applebee’s and made contact with the subject. Investigation revealed the subject, identified as Mario Joel San Martini, had thrown rocks through the doors of the two businesses in an attempt to steal money. San Martini had also attempted to break glass doors at US Bank, located at 19201 Bear Valley Road, and Bank of America, located at 19095 Bear Valley Road, but was unsuccessful. 

Mario Joel San Martini was arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center on charges of burglary, where he is being held in lieu of $30,000 bail.
