Wilmington Police arrest wanted Claymont man on gun and drug charges:
Wilmington Police have arrested a wanted Claymont man on gun and drug charges.
On April 15, at approximately 6:45 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division were in the 500 block of East 35th Street, when they conducted a motor vehicle stop for an equipment violation. Police made contact with the driver – 23-year-old Mohammed Rahim, who was found to be wanted on an outstanding capias. Rahim was taken into custody without incident, and following a brief investigation, police recovered a loaded 9mm handgun and 111 grams of marijuana.
Rahim has been charged with the following offenses in addition to traffic violations:
- Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Possession of a Controlled Substance
