| Narrative: |
On April 11th at 9:44 am, deputies working at the Todd Road Jail Facility discovered Mr. Tony Garcia, an incarcerated individual awaiting trial, unconscious and non-responsive in the dayroom area of his assigned Housing Unit. Deputies and medical staff immediately rendered first aid to Mr. Garcia. Mr. Garcia was transported by ambulance to Ventura County Medical Center for advanced medical care. Investigators from the Sheriff’s Major Crimes Bureau responded and initiated an investigation. Preliminary information obtained thus far suggests that Mr. Garcia was likely assaulted by another incarcerated person. This investigation is active and ongoing.
