Public Safety Telecommunicators Week
This week, Deputy Mayor Dr. Kimberly Mayfield stopped by the OPD Communications Division to present a Mayor’s Proclamation, officially recognizing Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.
A week, to celebrate the hard work, dedication, and invaluable contributions of the backbone of our emergency response: our dispatchers. Last year, OPD’s 911 dispatch center received 1,271,428 calls, averaging nearly 3,500 calls per day.
Join us in showing our gratitude and appreciation for the incredible dispatchers who play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of Oakland.
