SUBJECT:  Subject Arrested and Charged with Multiple Commercial Burglaries                                                          
DATE/TIME: 04/16/2024 2:30 am                
OFFICERS: Officers Charles Weinkofsky, Brett Blank, Michael Abbott, Dominic Pedone, Anthony Bartolomei, Detective Michael Legg, Sergeants Jeffrey Malone and Jesse Orbach and Monmouth County Sheriff’s K-9 Unit                
LOCATION: Blue Swan Diner in Ocean Township      
ACCUSED: Leamon D. Washington 51 year old male of Wall, NJ
 
NARRATIVE:   On April 16^th, 2024 at approximately 2:30 am officers were dispatched to the area of the Blue Swan Diner for a report of glass being broken.  Upon the officers’ arrival, they began to check several businesses in the area for any evidence of broken glass.  The officers located a broken window at the Blue Swan Diner and set up a perimeter around the business.  Officers then entered the business in an attempt to locate the suspect.  The accused, Leamon D. Washington, was located hiding in the crawl space of the business.  He exited the crawl space and was placed under arrest.  Washington was transported to police headquarters for processing.  After further investigation at headquarters, it was determined that Washington was involved in several other commercial burglaries that had occurred in recent weeks within Ocean Township and surrounding towns.  Leamon Washington was charged with several counts of Burglary, Possession of Burglar Tools, Theft and Criminal Mischief.  Washington was committed to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution pending an initial court appearance.  Anyone who requires further information in refence to these burglaries please contact Detective Michael Legg at 732-531-1428 ext. 2236.
