INCIDENT: P.C. 211 Robbery, P.C. 422(A) Criminal Threats, H&S 11351 Possession for Sale of a Controlled Substance
LOCATION: 16266 Bear Valley Road, Victorville
SUSPECT(S): Derrick Darnell Young, 40-year-old Resident of Victorville
SUMMARY: On Sunday, April 21, 2024, at approximately 12:22 a.m., deputies from the Victorville station were dispatched to 16266 Bear Valley Road for an unknown disturbance at the location.
The suspect, identified as Derrick Darnell Young, approached several victims at the location and threatened them, while also displaying a firearm in his waistband. Young robbed one of the victims of their bicycle and left the location. Deputy Cherms located Young, who was positively identified as the suspect through investigation.
A search warrant was served at Young's residence which led to the recovery of the stolen bicycle. A handgun, several high-capacity magazines, a large amount of narcotics, money, and drug paraphernalia were discovered during the search warrant.
Derrick Darnell Young was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto, for P.C. 211 Robbery, P.C. 422(A) Criminal Threats, H&S 11351 Possession for Sale of a Controlled Substance.
