INCIDENT: P.C. 664/211 Attempted Robbery, P.C. 273A(B) Child Endangerment
LOCATION: 16670 Bear Valley Road, Victorville
SUSPECT(S): Mark Stephen Gruber, 39-year-old Transient of Victorville
VICTIM: Confidential Juvenile
SUMMARY: On Saturday, April 20, 2024, at approximately 3:37 p.m., deputies from the Victorville station were dispatched to a call for service for a male who was attempting to steal a bike from a juvenile.
The suspect, Mark Stephen Gruber, approached a juvenile on their bike at McDonald's at 16670 Bear Valley Road. Gruber pushed the juvenile off their bike causing them to fall. A good Samaritan driving by the area saw what was happening and intervened. The good Samaritan was able to get the bike back from Gruber and returned it to the juvenile.
Gruber left the area prior to deputies arriving but was located nearby a short time later, and detained. Gruber was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto, for P.C. 664/211 Attempted Robbery, P.C. 273A(B) Child Endangerment, and two outstanding warrants.
