Wilmington Police have arrested a man on gun charges.
On April 17, at approximately 10:05 p.m., members of the Safe Streets Task Force conducted a motor vehicle stop in the 100 block of West 21
st Street, and made contact with the driver – 18-year-old Avery Quartlebaum. Following a brief investigation, police recovered a loaded 9mm handgun, and took Quartlebaum into custody without incident.
Quartlebaum has been charged with the following offenses in addition to traffic violations:
- Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Receiving a Stolen Firearm
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was released on $6,100 unsecured bail.
