Narrative:
The Thousand Oaks Police Department is proud to announce “Unity in the Community” day in conjunction with MANDO Youth Development Group and Safe Passage Youth Foundation.  Unity in the Community brings deputies and community members together to interact and engage in services, learn about resources, and understand the needs of the community.

Join us Friday May 3rd, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at 1707 Calle Diamonte in Thousand Oaks to engage with deputies and community members.  This event is being organized in conjunction with MANDO Youth Organization and Safe Passage Youth Foundation, both non-profit organizations from Thousand Oaks.  Safe Passage is focused on providing services to over 600 Conejo Valley youth living below the poverty level.  MANDO’s mission is to mentor “at risk” youth and build programs to provide opportunities outside their norm.  The East County Special Enforcement Unit has joined with MANDO in mentoring “at risk” youth and building trust within the community.

Community trust and transparency are some of the key elements to the success of the Thousand Oaks Police Department.  By engaging with community members and having a simple conversation, deputies and the community members they serve can continue to build and grow together.  The Thousand Oaks Police Department invites you to come out and engage with our community and get to know the deputies in the neighborhood.

This event is all about serving the community we work in and building trust.  The Thousand Oaks Police Department wants to understand the issues within our community and learn how we can better serve them.
