SR-55 Improvement Project full freeway closure planned for April 26-27

Southern California Edison (SCE) plans to install new power lines on SR-55 freeway, which will require a full closure of both northbound and southbound lanes between Edinger Avenue and Dyer Road. This activity will occur as early as 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly, Friday, April 26, and Saturday, April 27. Crews may need to return the following weekend to complete the work.

In addition, the following ramps, connectors, and streets will be closed:

• Southbound Dyer Road off-ramps

• Northbound Dyer Road on-ramps

• Southbound Edinger Avenue on-ramp

• Southbound McFadden Avenue on-ramp

• Southbound I-5 to southbound SR-55 HOV connector

• Southbound I-405 to northbound SR-55 HOV connector

• Westbound Warner Avenue over SR-55

Detour signs will be posted in advance. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead before traveling through the area.

The Orange County Transportation Authority and Caltrans are improving 4 miles of SR-55 between I-5 to I-405. The project will improve traffic flow and reduce travel time by adding one regular lane and one carpool lane in each direction. More information at octa.net/SR55South.
