Drop off expired prescription drugs on National RX Take Back Day

The Hoboken Police Department is participating in the Drug Enforcement Administration's (DEA) National Prescription Take Back Day on Saturday, April 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.. Residents can drop off old, expired, unneeded, and unwanted tablets, capsules, patches, and other solid forms of prescription drugs, no questions asked, in the lobby area of the following locations:

  • 106 Hudson St. (Police Headquarters) 
  • 76 Bloomfield St. 
  • 311 13th St. 
  • 220 Adams St. 
  • 514 Madison St. 
  • 221 Jackson St.

E-cigarette and vaping devices will also be collected, but only if the batteries have been removed. If the battery cannot be removed, consumers can check with large electronic chain stores who may accept the device for proper disposal.

Free eye clinic appointments available 

The Hoboken Office of Constituent Services is partnering with the New Jersey Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired (CBVI) to bring an eye clinic to Hoboken on Wednesday, May 1, at the Multi Service Center, 124 Grand St.

Project B.E.S.T (Better Eye-health Services and Treatment) will offer free eye screenings to residents beginning at 10 a.m. 

Registration is required, and appointments can be made by calling (201) 420-2000 Ext. 1314 or Ext. 1312. 

Senior Prom tickets available for senior citizens

Get your tickets to Senior Prom! Hoboken Senior Services, Hoboken High School National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, and Student Government will host the prom for local senior citizens on May 2 at Hoboken High School at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available at the Office of Senior Services, 124 Grand St. 

The City will provide a free Hop shuttle to and from the prom. Pickup will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Multi-Service Center and stop at multiple senior buidlings to Hoboken High School. Drop-off will begin at 8 p.m. from the Hoboken High School following the prom's conclusion.
