On April 24, 2024, at approximately 06:54 am, Officers were dispatched to a major crash at East Amarillo Boulevard and Folsom Road. A Tan Chevrolet pickup was traveling westbound on E. Amarillo Blvd. A commercial motor vehicle truck and trailer carrying a base to a wind turbine, was southbound on Folsom rd, attempting to turn eastbound onto E. Amarillo Blvd. The Chevrolet struck the side of the trailer. The driver of the Chevrolet was deceased on scene. The driver of the semi was not injured in the crash. Potter County Judge Robert Taylor was contacted and arrived on scene. The incident is being investigated by the Traffic investigation unit of the Amarillo Police Department.
