Red Flag Warning until 08:00PM Friday

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FOR FRIDAY FROM 1 PM MDT UNTIL 8 PM MDT FOR EASTERN NEW MEXICO AND THE MIDDLE RIO GRANDE VALLEY DUE TO STRONG WINDS AND VERY LOW HUMIDITY... .Critical fire weather conditions return across portions of central New Mexico and all of eastern New Mexico behind Thursday's disturbance. Gusty west winds will meet with minimum relative humidity in the low double digits in the afternoon, with conditions tapering off in the evening. The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Red Flag Warning...which is in effect from 1 PM to 8 PM MDT Friday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

* AREA AND TIMING...Middle Rio Grande Valley (Zone 106), Sandia and Manzano Mountains (Zone 124), Central Highlands (Zone 125), East Central Plains (Zone 126), Northeast Highlands (Zone 123), and Northeast Plains (Zone 104) Friday afternoon through Friday evening.

* 20 FOOT WINDS...West 20 to 30 mph with gusts between 40 and 50 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Minimum values between 9 and 15 percent.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

* AFFECTED AREAS: NORTHEAST PLAINS ... MIDDLE RIO GRANDE VALLEY ... NORTHEAST HIGHLANDS ... SANDIA AND MANZANO MOUNTAINS ... CENTRAL HIGHLANDS ... EAST CENTRAL PLAINS
