* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Western Vernon Parish in west central Louisiana... Northeastern Tyler County in southeastern Texas... Northern Newton County in southeastern Texas... Northeastern Jasper County in southeastern Texas...

* Until 1245 AM CDT.

* At 1212 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Toledo Bend Dam to near Jamestown to near Magnolia Springs, moving east at 35 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include... Jasper, Leesville, Newton, Anacoco, Toledo Bend Dam, Ebenezer, Town Bluff, Burkeville, New Llano, Hornbeck, Browndell, Farrsville, Magnolia Springs, Burr Ferry, Mayflower, Jamestown, Kurthwood, Roganville, Harrisburg, and Stringtown.

* AFFECTED AREAS: VERNON, LA ... JASPER, TX ... NEWTON, TX ... TYLER, TX

Instructions:

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning are occurring with these storms. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 200 AM CDT for west central Louisiana...and southeastern Texas.
