Through their investigations, Homicide Detectives were able to obtain a murder indictment on Isaac Arthur Botello, male, 10/01/2001 and a murder and aggravated perjury indictment on Jorge Fabian Cabello, male 08/02/2001. Both men were arrested and booked into the Potter County Jail.

On January 24, 2024, at approximately 11:00 PM, APD officers were sent to a residence in the 800 block of N. Highland on a shooting incident. Once there they found a male, Everardo Guadalupe Leal, 23 YO male, with a gunshot wound and began lifesaving measures. The male was ultimately declared deceased by AMS. A short time later, officers were dispatched to the 800 block of N. Apache on a second shooting. There, they found a second male with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital where he is listed as critical but stable by hospital personnel. It was discovered that both shootings and victims are related. It is believed that this incident was sparked by an altercation that occurred at approximately 10:00 PM at the Grand Street Walmart.
This incident is ongoing and is being investigated by the Amarillo Police Department Homicide Unit.
