Citywide fire hydrant inventory and inspection continue in central portion of the City

As of April 29, 2024, city contractors have completed the second round of hydrant inventory and inspection and are now moving on to round three.

The Round 3 work area will be located in two regions serviced by Water Treatment Plants 1 and 2 in the Central part of the City and focus on two sections.

Section one will encompass the area south of SR-434 and north of Lombardy Road between Cortez Avenue and Moss Road and all of Hacienda Village.

Section two will consist of the Oak Forrest Subdivision and the area south of Winter Springs Boulevard from Tuskawilla Road to Greenbriar Lane.

Signs have been placed at critical points in the area notifying residents of the work being done, and updates will be provided here:  https://bit.ly/hydrant-inspections

As part of the process, crews will open hydrants to check flow rates and pressure to ensure each hydrant is cataloged correctly.

Work will be performed Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Customers are advised to minimize water usage during the period of immediate area testing. If discoloration occurs in tap water, run the cold-water faucet for several minutes or until the discoloration clears.

Please contact the City of Winter Springs Utilities Customer Service at 407-327-1800 if you have any questions.
