Upcoming overnight road closures on State Hwy 35 due to paving beginning Tuesday Night. 
The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) will be paving Route 35 from H Street (Route 71) to 10th Avenue. This work is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, April 30, 2024, through Saturday, May 4th, 2024, nightly, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Construction signs and traffic devices, such as barricades and cones, will be placed. Motorists are advised to slow down, use caution, and expect delays.
The following detours will be in place:
• For Rt 35 NB in Belmar, close Rt 35 NB from 16th Ave to 10th Ave.
• Rt. 35 NB traffic: turn right onto 16th Ave., turn left onto Main St./Rt. 71, and turn left to get back to Rt. 35.
• For Rt. 35 SB traffic looking to get into Belmar, take the cloverleaf U-turn to turn onto 16th Ave. and follow the same detour as for Rt. 35.
