Learn more about proposed public art

The City of Hoboken will host a public hearing before the Hoboken City Council on Wednesday, May 1, at 7 p.m. at City Hall to present three proposed public art installations.

The planned art includes a statue of Marsha P. Johnson at Stevens Park, a sculpture at the Pier C Park fishing pier titled River That Flows Two Ways in celebration of the river, and a mural in the lobby of City Hall titled Layers which honors the beauty of everyday life.

The art pieces were selected by the Hoboken Arts Advisory Commitee following a call for artists. The City's public art will be overseen by the City's new Art Administrator Annie McAdams in accordance with the new Public Arts Plan.

The art will be funded by the Arts Fund established by executive order in 2018.
