We are still currently actively investigating this so I don’t have anything currently to release. However, we are following up on several leads.  This is a very fluid situation as we gather more information we will send out updates.  At the time of the original Nixle being sent out, Remy Jackson was a person of interest, while we have not conclusively eliminated him as a suspect, we have received conflicting stories and we are working to sort through what is truth and what is speculation. We will send updates through Nixle as we receive more information. Thank you for your patience as we work to bring a resolution to this situation. 




Forest City Police Department is actively investigating a shooting that occurred in the area of Hardin Road Park on Hardin Rd. in Forest City.  One victim was transported in reference to an injury sustained from a gunshot.  The suspect is a light-skinned black male who fled the scene on foot and is suspected to still be in the area. Forest City Police Department asks that residents in the areas surrounding Hardin Rd. Park remain inside their homes as they take measures to locate the suspect.  If you know the location of this suspect, please contact Central Communications at (828) 286-2911.
