Fellow Neighbors,
 
It is with great pride that I can share that today, Fair Haven completed the acquisition of the 1.26 acre waterfront property adjacent to our Municipal Dock at 21 Fair Haven Road. With grant support from the Monmouth County Open Space Program and New Jersey Green Acres, the Borough's contribution to the sale price was limited to $335,625.00. 
 
We envision this land becoming a part of the fabric of our town, a majestic pocket of tranquility for future generations of Fair Haveners to enjoy the sunrise and sunset together on the Navesink River. 
 
Immediately, we will be securing the site and demolishing the existing structure on the property. It is very important to stay off the parcel until the Borough qualifies that it is safe to be on it, and we will communicate with the public when that time comes.
 
Our longer term goal is to plan, design, and establish a park for our entire Community that enhances our way of living, while concurrently respecting the immediate neighborhood in which it lies. To that end, I am forming a 21 Fair Haven Road Volunteer Committee that will be responsible for making recommendations to the Governing Body on the future of the park. I want to thank the countless residents throughout Fair Haven who have helped, and continue to help, create a vision for this property.  Much like the acquisition of Fair Haven Fields some 50 years ago, this park will become a quintessential Fair Haven jewel, a postcard setting for all of us to make special memories together. I couldn't be more excited, and I look forward to sharing those moments with all of you in the future.
