Rohnert Park, Calif. – Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety encourages the public to celebrate Cinco de Mayo responsibly by planning ahead and designating a sober drive.
On May 5, Rohnert Park DPS will have additional officers on patrol from looking for drivers suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
“Don’t put yourself and others on the road at risk by driving impaired,” Sergeant Marshall said. “If you’re planning to celebrate with a drink or two, leave your keys at home and designate a sober driver.”
Our agency wants to warn the community that alcohol is not the only substance that can cause impairment. Marijuana, prescription medications or over-the-counter drugs may also decrease your driving safety. Do your research and understand how certain drugs may affect your driving ability.
Thank you for increasing the safety of our community with us! Happy Cinco de Mayo.
Funding for this program is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
