Yorktown Police advise the motoring public that the VFW Post 8328 Memorial Day Parade will take place today at 11:30 am. The following roads will be CLOSED at around 11:00 am and will remain CLOSED for the safety of all parade particpants and spectators:
- Route 118 (Saw Mill River Rd.) at Underhill Ave.
- Front St. at Moseman Rd. (MAY BE CLOSED EARLIER THAN 11:00 am)
- Front St. at Underhill Ave. (MAY BE CLOSED EARLIER THAN 11:00 am)
- Underhill Ave. at Kear St.
- Commerce St. at Downing Dr.
- Commerce St. at Hanover St.
- Commerce St. at Veterans Rd.
- Commerce St. at CVS Driveway (CVS/Triangle Shopping Center will remain accessable)
- Veterans Rd. at Maple Hill St.
The parade is expected to last for about one hour. Roadways will remain closed until pedestrian traffic has cleared. Veterans Rd. WILL REMAIN CLOSED following the parade until approximately 1:30 pm.
If you are attending the parade, please arrive early to avoid road closures. Expect traffic delays and use alternate routes.
