Shots Fired Shooting Suspects Arrested
This is a follow up to the shots fired investigation that occurred on 04/29/24 at 11:26 p.m. in the 2200 block of Green Valley Drive. The investigation will continue, but 3 subjects have been arrested for their involvement in the incident. A search warrant was also served in the 2000 block of N. Wright Rd., where 3 handguns were seized. Follow up will be conducted to see if these handguns were used during the incident.
The 3 subjects taken into custody regarding this incident include two 16 year old males and one 15 year old male. All 3 are City of Janesville residents and were held at the Rock County Youth Services Center, pending their initial appearance. For the shots fired incident, the subjects were charged with Party To The Crime 1st Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety By Use Of A Dangerous Weapon. They were all also charged with Disorderly Conduct reference a physical fight that occurred earlier in the day near Center Ave. / Kellogg Ave.
This investigation is ongoing and follow up will continue until it is complete. This incident is a great example of how violent crimes, specifically gun crime, are treated in Janesville. From the moment the call came in all resources were put towards it to investigate potential leads, which resulted in the arrest of the 3 suspects. The Janesville Police Department also appreciates the cooperation from businesses and citizens that helped in the investigation.
