ARRAIGNMENT/BAIL STATUS: Graveley was arraigned in Amsterdam City Court in front of Honorable Judge William J. Mycek and was remanded to the custody of the Montgomery County Correctional Facility.
INCIDENT NARRATIVE:
On April 27th, 2024 at approximately 4:03 PM, the Amsterdam Police Department received a call reporting a male in the bed of a pickup truck with a weapon driving in the area of Forbes Street. Patrol officers responded and started to canvass the area for the suspect vehicle. During this time additional calls were received describing a male wearing a black mask and tactical vest while holding a hunting style bow and arrow in the bed of a gray pickup truck on Elk Street. While speaking to a witness additional calls were received that the vehicle was spotted in the area of Fourth Avenue. Patrol responded and located the suspect vehicle in the area of the five corners where a traffic stop was conducted. The suspect now identified as, Gravely, was located in the vehicle wearing a black tactical style vest and was taken into custody without incident.
A search of the vehicle was completed where officers located a hunting style compound bow and hunting arrows. Graveley was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and held for arraignment.
Follow up investigation revealed at least two victims had been menaced by the suspect with the bow and arrow.
While there was probable cause for this arrest, all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
