Chino Hills, California – On April 27, 2024, from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m., the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department/Chino Hills Police Department conducted a DUI checkpoint at Chino Hills Parkway and Pipeline Avenue.
Two drivers were arrested for DUI, 10 were cited for operating a vehicle without a valid license or with a suspended/revoked license, 1,171 drivers were contacted, and 56 vehicles were screened for vehicle code violations.
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
