Our station has noticed a recent trend where criminals are stealing the contents of a purse while at business establishments. Often, the victims have their purse in a shopping cart or hanging off the back of a chair. Even though the victim is next to the purse, the suspect will surreptitiously steal the wallet from the open purse when no one is looking. Then, the suspect will use the credit cards to make illegal purchases.

Our station wants to remind the public to never leave your purse open or unattended. Despite the victims being immediately next to their belongings, the suspects are clever enough to steal the contents undetected. Keep your purse in your immediate control and do not have the contents immediately accessible.
