Flood Warning until 02:23AM Saturday

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Kansas... Neosho River at Oswego affecting Cherokee and Labette Counties.

* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Neosho River at Oswego.

* WHEN...Until early Saturday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 22.5 feet, Riverside Park Drive floods from east of Xavier St, just south of the river gage bridge, to 100 yards east towards the water plant.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 11:00 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 23.1 feet. - Bankfull stage is 17.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage tomorrow morning and continue falling to 8.9 feet early Tuesday morning. - Flood stage is 17.0 feet.

* AFFECTED AREAS: CHEROKEE, KS ... LABETTE, KS

Instructions:

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
