Highland Park 5K/Spring Street Fair, Sunday 5/5
Join Main Street Highland Park for a day filled with fun activities for all ages, starting with the 5K Race at 9 AM followed by the Kids' Races at 10 AM (there is still time to register to run or volunteer!) and then the Street Fair from 11:30 AM to 4:30 PM - rain or shine! Learn more about all of the events and how to participate at mainstreethp.org.
 
Earth Day Fair, Sunday 5/5
Sustainable Highland Park welcomes residents and visitors to participate in Highland Park's annual Earth Day Fair on No. 3^rd Ave between Raritan Ave and Denison Street from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm. Highlights of the Earth Day Fair will include: distribution of Free Native Plants seedlings; an EV demonstration; a rain barrel build; and a new compost option from One Compost Can and information on backyard composting and vermicomposting for apartment dwellers. There will also be vegan finger food offerings from Chef Meredith as well as performances by local musicians - see you Sunday!

ROAD CLOSURES

On Sunday May 5th, the Annual Highland Park 5k Race & Street Fair will take place. Raritan Avenue will be closed to traffic from 2^nd through 5^th Avenues from approximately 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Expect heavy traffic and possible delays due to detours which will direct traffic to alternate routes. Be aware of parking restrictions in effect along Raritan Avenue, Magnolia Street, Denison Street, and several other streets that intersect Raritan Avenue. If you are parked in violation of the parking restrictions, your vehicle is subject to being towed.

Special attention to north side residents. A 5k race scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. will travel through several streets on the north side. If you are a resident of any of the following streets, it is recommended that you move any parked vehicles from the street and refrain from driving until runners are clear of the course.

• Lincoln Avenue between Walter Avenue and Lawrence Avenue
• Lawrence Avenue between Lincoln Ave and North 2^nd Avenue
• North 2^nd Avenue between Lawrence Avenue and Cleveland Avenue
• Madison Avenue between Cleveland Avenue and North 4^th Avenue
• North 4^th Avenue between Madison Avenue and Lincoln Avenue
• South Park Avenue between North 5^th and North 8^th Avenues
• No 8^th Avenue between South Park Avenue and Abbott Street
• Abbott between North 8^th Avenue and North 5^th Avenue
