When I mention “the unit block” of a street, this means the incident occurred at an address anywhere between 1 and 99 of the street.

Robberies

There was one robbery during the past week.

On Tuesday, 04-23-24, at approximately 8:42 p.m., officers were dispatched to TJ Maxx at the Serramonte Shopping Center in response to a report of a robbery. A loss prevention officer said he heard an audible alarm from the accessories and handbags area. The loss prevention officer then saw two suspects in the handbag section. The first suspect was seen removing security tethers with an unknown device. Subsequently, the loss prevention officer approached both suspects and told them, “We are not doing this today.” While the loss prevention officer was standing in front of the exit doors, the second suspect told the first suspect to leave and pushed the loss prevention officer backward until he exited the store. The first suspect took two purses valued at approximately $286. Both suspects then entered a vehicle with a third suspect and fled. They proceeded to another store in a neighboring jurisdiction and committed another theft. All three suspects were detained by police officers from the neighboring jurisdiction. The loss prevention officer was transported to the location where the suspects were and positively identified them. The first suspect, a 29-year-old San Francisco resident, was arrested and booked into jail for robbery, possession of unlawful paraphernalia, misappropriation of lost property, and outstanding warrants. The second suspect, a 29-year-old Sunnyvale resident, was arrested and booked into jail for robbery and possession of a controlled substance. The third suspect, a 32-year-old San Jose resident, was arrested and booked into jail for driving with a suspended driver’s license, possession of a narcotic controlled substance, and possession of unlawful paraphernalia.

Nextdoor.com

Nextdoor.com is a free private social networking website for your neighborhood. This private network ensures that only those who live in your neighborhood can join; users must go through a verification process. Neighbors ask each other for business recommendations; help in locating missing pets; discuss relevant local government issues; or connect for other reasons. It is very easy to sign up. I like the fact that the site verifies users by addresses, and it won’t allow people to access a neighborhood if they don’t live there. Please note: The City of Daly City and/or the Police Department cannot see what residents post—we are only allowed to post information. There is also a mobile application, or you can have it sent to your e-mail. Give it a try!  www.nextdoor.com
