Lt Jesse Hicks with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged 41-year-old Stephanie Dawn Brackett of Morganton with felonious Malicious Conduct by Prisoner, 3 counts of Resisting a Public Officer and Communicating Threats. Brackett was issued a $2,000 secured bond.
On April 13th, McDowell County Sheriff’s Office detention officers responded to a disruption in a cell in the detention center. Brackett ignored commands to exit her cell and threw an unknown liquid on the officers while they were attempting to remove her from the cell.
