Wilmington Police have arrested a male juvenile on gun charges.
On May 1, at approximately 9:46 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division were in the 600 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard, when they conducted a motor vehicle stop for an equipment violation. Following a brief investigation, officers took a 17-year-old male juvenile into custody without incident, and recovered a loaded 9mm handgun.
The 17-year-old male juvenile has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – Three Counts
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the New Castle County Juvenile Detention Center on $50,000 cash-only bail.
