The male subject who was shot by officers in the incident on E. Bonita St. last night has died from his injuries. He is identified as Larry Dean Woolsey, male, 61. Next of kin has been notified. This case is still under investigation.
***ORIGINAL***
Amarillo police officers were dispatched to the 4600 block of Angelus on a male pointing a rifle at people in the area. Officers located the male in the 700 block of E. Bonita. Officers contacted the male and began giving commands. The male refused to comply and turned towards the officers in an aggressive manner producing what appeared to be a rifle or weapon. Officers fired their duty weapons, and the male was struck. He was transported to a local area hospital with life threatening injuries. This case is still under investigation.
