ARRAIGNMENT/BAIL STATUS: Earl was processed, then arraigned in front of the Honorable Lisa W. Lorman in Amsterdam City Court and was released on his own recognizance to return to court at a later date.
INCIDENT NARRATIVE: The Amsterdam Police Department conducted an investigation into the sales of controlled substances by Thomas E. Earl occurring throughout the City and Town of Amsterdam. During the investigation Earl did sell a controlled substance to a police source. On 5/1/2024 Amsterdam Police Detectives located Earl and placed him under arrest on the above charges. He was then transported to Amsterdam Police Headquarters where he was processed on the above charges and was held for arraignment.
The Amsterdam Police Department was assisted by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office.
While there was probable cause for this arrest, all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
