Police Seek Help Identifying Robbery Suspects

Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé seeks the public’s assistance in identifying the below-pictured suspects in connection with a robbery that occurred on Thursday, April 4, 2024.

At approximately 8:42 p.m., a victim sitting inside her vehicle in the 900 block of South 18th Street was approached by two Black males who demanded her belongings at gunpoint.

The suspects took the victim’s book bag-type purse containing $4,000.00 and an iPhone XR. The suspects then fled, running northbound on South 19th Street toward Avon Avenue.

Detectives seek the public’s help in quickly identifying these suspects. Suspect 1 is described as having a thin-build, a dark brown complexion, and no facial hair. He was wearing a vest, a hooded sweatshirt, pants, and white sneakers.

Suspect 2 is described as having a medium build, a light brown complexion, and no facial hair. He was wearing a hooded sweatshirt, pants, and a surgical mask.

Director Fragé urges anyone with information about these suspects to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
