INCIDENT: Vehicle vs Semi Truck Traffic Crash
LOCATION: Dale Evans Parkway & Quarry Road, Apple Valley, CA
DRIVER 1: 33-year-old male of Victorville
VEHICLE 1: Toyota sedan
DRIVER 2: 48-year-old male of Apple Valley
VEHICLE 2: Freightliner Semi-truck and trailer
VEHICLE 3: Nissan sedan
SUMMARY:
On Thursday, May 2, 2024, at approximately 6:56 pm, deputies from the Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station and rescue personnel from the Apple Valley Fire Department responded to a vehicle versus semi-truck traffic crash that occurred at Dale Evans Parkway and Quarry Road, in the Town of Apple Valley.
Deputy J. Rodgers investigated the traffic collision and determined the driver of the Toyota failed to stop at the posted stop sign for the intersection, which resulted in the Toyota colliding with the semi-truck and trailer.
The semi-truck and trailer were forced off the roadway and collided into the parked Nissan and an electrical pole and the semi-truck and trailer flipped onto its side.
The driver of the Toyota was airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for treatment of moderate injuries. Southern California Edison responded to repair the damaged electrical pole and Wal-Mart representatives removed cargo from the overturned trailer. The road was closed for several hours but has reopened.
