Possible Stranger Danger - Media Release

INFORMATION:
On 05-03-2024 at approximately 5:00 pm, the Plymouth Township Police Department responded to a report of a possible "Stranger Danger" incident in the Trailwood Subdivision of Plymouth Township.
The complainant advised our officers that her elementary school aged child reported to her that he had been approached by a male subject driving an unknown vehicle who asked the child if he "wanted to go for a ride" with him.Our officers spoke to the child who stated that he had been riding a scooter, On Trailwood Road between Riveredge Drive and Creekwood Circle, when he was approached by the stranger. The child described the vehicle as being red in color. The child was unsure of the type of vehicle, initially stating that it was a convertible and finally settling on it possibly being a sedan. The driver was described as a male (unknown race) wearing sunglasses, possibly in his mid 30's.
At this time, the Police Department has been unable to locate any witnesses or surveillance footage that captured this incident.
Plymouth Township PD Detectives continue to investigate this complaint. We are asking members of the public to please contact us if they were a witness to this incident. Additionally, we are asking any residents of the Trailwood Subdivision to forward us any surveillance footage that they believe may have captured this incident or possible suspect vehicles.
