Watch Commander’s Night Report - May 3, 2024

CAD CALLS: 1021

1. Assault with a Deadly Weapon (1900) 1100 Block of North Wilson Way, Park District

The male victim, 60, was at the location when the known suspect hit him with an object. Officers located the suspect, who was arrested without incident. The victim received non-life-threatening injuries and declined medical attention. ARRESTED: William Chestine, 49, for assault with a deadly weapon. 

2. Battery on an Officer (2115) Airport Way and Flora Street, Park District

Officers conducted an enforcement stop near the listed area. During a search of the vehicle they located ammunition. As the suspect was being taken into custody, he kicked an officer and was taken into custody without further incident. ARRESTED: Jose Estrada, 26, for resisting arrest, battery on an officer, and possession of ammunition.

3. Resisting Arrest (2007) 700 Block of Queensland Circle, Seaport District

Officers responded to the listed area on a report of a disturbance. As officers attempted to detain the suspect, he resisted arrest and had to be restrained. The suspect was transported to an area hospital for a complaint of pain. ARRESTED: Male juvenile, for battery and resisting arrest.

4. Robbery (2315) 2300 Block of North El Dorado Street, Civic District

The male victim, 34, was working at an area business when the suspect brandished a firearm and demanded property. The victim complied,
and the suspect fled the area. SUSPECT: Black male
juvenile.

5. Shooting into Dwelling (2220) 2800 Block of Homewood Drive, Valley Oak District

The male victim, 32, was inside his residence when the suspects fired several rounds into his vehicle. SUSPECTS: Two males wearing hooded sweatshirts.

6. Carjacking / Assault with a Deadly Weapon (2215) 9800 Block of Hickock Drive, Bearcreek District

The male victims, 23, 19, and a juvenile were in their front yard when a suspect approached on foot. The suspect assaulted one victim and fired multiple shots at the others, before fleeing in the victims’ vehicle.
The victims were transpoted to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injures. SUSPECT: Unknown
