* WHAT...Northwest winds 25 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected.
* WHERE...Mojave Desert Slopes.
* WHEN...From 5 PM this afternoon to 11 PM PDT Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Travel will be difficult, particularly for high profile vehicles. Blowing dust will reduce visibilities at times.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Highways affected include, but are not limited to Highway 14, Highway 178 below Walker Pass, and Highway 58 below Tehachapi Pass, including the town of Mojave.
* AFFECTED AREAS: MOJAVE DESERT SLOPES
Instructions:
Secure outdoor items, such as patio furniture, sports equipment, and trash cans prior to the onset of high winds. Even the most common objects become dangerous projectiles when picked up and carried by high winds. Remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Watch for falling debris and tree limbs. Use caution if you must drive.
