LOCATION: Chino Hills Parkway and State Route 71, Chino Hills
SUSPECT(S): Francisco Cabral, a 38-year-old resident of Corona
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On Sunday, May 5, 2024, at 12:35 AM, a Chino Hills deputy conducted a traffic stop at Chino Hills Parkway and State Route 71 in Chino Hills for vehicle code violations. During the stop, Francisco Cabral, an occupant in the vehicle, fled from deputies. Deputies pursued Cabral as he ran from the car. Cabral ran across State Route 71 to avoid the detention. During his flight, deputies saw Cabral throw a duffel bag. Deputies ultimately detained Cabral on the freeway. A search of the duffel bag, discarded by Cabral, led to the recovery of a loaded shotgun and revolver handgun.
Cabral was found to be a wanted fugitive in Los Angeles County, with a felony warrant issued for his arrest for narcotic violations. Cabral was booked at West Valley Detention Center for being a felon in possession of firearms and ammunition.
