INCIDENT: In-Custody Death Investigation
LOCATION: West Valley Detention Center, 9500 Etiwanda Ave., Rancho Cucamonga
DECEDENT(S): Elizabeth Maria Ardon, 23-year-old Resident of Phelan
SUMMARY: On Friday, May 3, 2024, at approximately 9:40 a.m., Elizabeth Ardon was found unresponsive in her cell. Deputies and jail medical staff rendered aid until emergency medical personnel arrived. Ardon was transported to a nearby hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.
Detectives with the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division responded and are conducting the investigation. Ardon’s cause of death is pending autopsy.
