...RED FLAG WARNING TODAY FROM 11 AM TO 8 PM MDT ACROSS EASTERN NM AND UPPER RIO GRANDE VALLEY DUE TO STRONG WINDS, VERY LOW HUMIDITY, AND AN UNSTABLE ATMOSPHERE... .Critical conditions are forecast to redevelop Wednesday afternoon east of the central mountain chain and within the Upper Rio Grande Valley. The lowest relative humidity and strongest winds will focus over the northeast highlands and northeast plains. The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Red Flag Warning...which is in effect from 11 AM this morning to 8 PM MDT this evening.
* AREA AND TIMING...Upper Rio Grande Valley (Zone 121) from 11 AM until 8 PM.
* 20 FOOT WINDS...West and northwest 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Minimum values between 9 and 10 percent.
* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
* AFFECTED AREAS: UPPER RIO GRANDE VALLEY AND LOWER CHAMA RIVER VALLEY
