MONTHLY SIREN TEST MOVED TO TODAY – WEDNESDAY MAY 8^TH, 2024
 
Dane County Emergency Management will be conducting the monthly test of the Outdoor Warning Sirens this Wednesday, May 8^th, at 12 noon, unless there is an immediate threat for severe weather for Dane County. The sirens will be sounded for the typical three minutes. The past two monthly tests of the Outdoor Warning Sirens were cancelled due to active winter weather and a time-critical emergency incident in progress during the regularly scheduled monthly test time. The Outdoor Warning Sirens are typically tested on the first Wednesday of the month at 12 noon. Two severe weather events have caused activation of the system this year, so far, and we have full confidence in the newly installed Federal Signal system. With severe weather season upon us, Dane County Emergency Management believes a full test of the system is important to ensure the whole county-wide system is functioning without issue.
